How do you replace the turn signal on a Volkswagen Passat?

I have a 1999 Volkswagen Passat and broke the turning signal in a small fender bender. I want to replace the turning signal, but can’t find any screws to take the broken signal out. Does someone have experience working with Volkswagens?

I assume you are talking about front turn signal – if so there is a spring with the hook inside that holds it – look from inside, you will see it.
